“Movember” is an annual event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness for men’s health issues. It is a great opportunity to teach young people about the importance of taking care of their health and looking after themselves.
But did you know that “Movember” is an event where girls and women can participate, as well? That's right! Ladies can show their support by growing (fake) mustaches, too. Not only is this a fantastic way to demonstrate solidarity with the men in their lives - whether it's their dad, brother, grandfather, or a friend… but it is also a lot of fun.
From grown mustaches to rocking fake ones - here at Merrick Prep, we had some impressive facial hair on display. The winner of the month-long event is our very own headmaster, Mr. Farrell.
Even our school's core values Courage, Compassion and Community came to play during “Movember” - especially if you ask Carey, Merrick Prep's kitchen chef. She pitched in the great prize for the end of this month – all participating students were to pick her new hair colour: Rainbow hair it is!
This is what fun looks like.
